Sealed Units

Misted-up double glazing? We replace just the glass, not the frame

Misted-up double glazing? Condensation trapped between the panes means the sealed unit has failed — but it doesn't mean you need new windows. We manufacture replacement double-glazed sealed units to fit your existing frames, whether they're uPVC, aluminium or timber, and fit them across Chichester and West Sussex.

Replacing just the glass costs a fraction of replacing the window, keeps frames that are still perfectly good out of landfill, and upgrades your glazing at the same time: modern soft-coat low-E glass and argon filling make a new unit noticeably warmer than one made twenty years ago.

We measure precisely, make the unit to size, and refit with the correct packers, seals and beads — so the window drains, locks and looks exactly as it should.

Energy efficiency
Low-E + Argon

Glass technology has moved on: a modern unit with soft-coat low-E glass, argon filling and warm-edge spacers insulates far better than the early double glazing in many local homes. Replacing failed units is one of the cheapest ways to make a noticeable difference to a cold room — without touching the frames.

Security

Engineered to protect

Where regulations require it — glazed doors, side panels and low-level glazing — we make units with toughened or laminated safety glass. Units are refitted with the correct glazing packers and secure beading, so the window is as solid as the day it was made.

Customisation

Tailored to you

We match what you have — obscure patterns, Georgian bars, leaded designs — or upgrade while we're there: acoustic glass for a road-facing bedroom, solar-control for a hot conservatory, self-cleaning for hard-to-reach panes.

Ideal for

Who this suits

Any home in Chichester, Bognor Regis, Havant or the surrounding area with misted, cracked or draughty double glazing in frames that are otherwise sound — plus landlords and property managers who need units replaced quickly and tidily.

Our process

How we do it

We survey and measure each unit, manufacture to size, and refit — typically within days, with each window out of action for well under an hour. No mess, no scaffolding for standard windows, no disruption.

Common questions

Frequently asked

Why has my double glazing misted up? +
The perimeter seal of the unit has failed, letting moist air into the cavity where it condenses. Once that happens the misting will keep coming back — the fix is a new sealed unit, made to the same size and fitted into your existing frame.
Do I need to replace the whole window? +
Almost never. If the frame is sound, we simply replace the glass unit — around a third of the cost of a new window, and the frame, handles and locks you already have stay exactly as they are.
Do you offer a supply-only service? +
Yes. Plenty of our customers are trade fitters, kitchen and bathroom installers, joiners and confident DIYers. We cut and process glass at our Chichester workshop for you to collect — often while you wait for simple cuts — or we can deliver locally. Bring your sizes or a template and we'll do the rest.
Are your quotes really free? +
Completely. Tell us what you need — sizes, photos or just a rough idea — and we'll give you a clear, no-obligation price. No pressure and no hard sell, ever. Call 01243 530 520 or use the contact form.
Who does the fitting? +
Our own team. TRP Glazing is a family-run business with over 40 years of experience — the people who measure and make your glass are the same friendly faces who fit it, so nothing gets lost between survey and installation.
Which areas do you cover? +
We're based at 89 Oving Road in Chichester and work right across the area — Bognor Regis, Selsey, the Witterings, Emsworth, Havant, Portsmouth, Arundel, Littlehampton, Midhurst, Petworth, Worthing and the surrounding towns and villages. For larger projects we regularly travel further across Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey.
